Today's post will be moved to Monday, as it is the last day of NaNoWriMo.
I had to write 10,000 words in 2 days just to be within sight of the finish. I still have 4200 to go.
But I will finish this year. I will complete a book in 30 days. And it will be hot garbage.
NaNoWriMo is great for a lot of reasons. It gives you confidence in your ability to complete a novel. It forces you to write every day. It gives you a great way to end a conversation at a party.
But most of all, NaNoWriMo teaches us that first drafts don't matter. They are there as place holders for better stories. Everything you write can and will be changed.
If you've been competing this year, then finish strong. Don't stop writing when you hit that word count. Finish the story. Finish the fight.
I know you can.
